An essential element of many remedial actions frequently includes excavation to remove impacted soil and source material. Once the source of the contamination is removed, dissolved contaminants in the groundwater will often naturally attenuate. Soil excavation can be supplemented with in-site remediation such as the introduction of a chemical oxidation product into the bottom of the excavation. The resultant combined remedy is effective and cost efficient.
PEC fully understands and incorporates all regulations to the eventual site cleanup where free product or excessive soil contamination is present, including chapter 62-780.500, FAC pertaining to petroleum contaminated sites. Prior to the disposal of any material, proper profiling is completed through appropriate sampling and laboratory analysis to ensure segregation of materials – resulting in lower disposal costs.
